This young man has Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer that is very treatable, with about a 90% success rate. His parents refuse to allow him to be treated by conventional medical practices, and instead want him treated by a voodoo witch-doctor that their religion allows.
He will die.
A judge has ruled that the child must be treated by an oncologist, and the progress of his treatment reported back to the judge on a regular basis. Failure would result in the state taking the child from his parents. The Loon Brigade would call this judge, "activist", no doubt.
In my view.. the court is only treating the symptom, and not the root disease. That boy will never escape the lunacy of his whack-job parents. The court should remove him immediately, and find him a new home. Just publicize this story a few times, and couples will be lining up to take him in and take care of him.

It's not enough to simply look the other way.. We must deride religion. It is a social ill that should be disdained by the larger society around it in order to reduce it's influence.
