Douggie Watch Revisited

I'm going to try to ressurect Douggie Watch, because the incredible amount of dumb from Doug been dominating this blog. I don't want to be a one trick pony you know.

However, at the "advice" of SkyDiveRick, the pinnacle of Christian/Conservative thought, Doug has "banned" me again... which simply means he's not going to approve any more comments I leave at the Land-O'-Loons. I'm crushed.. truly.

But as Doug strips away the gift he's given me to offer my view, it just wouldn't be a Gibb's post if it weren't a barely literate screed of mind bending logical contradictions.

To wit;

Tom left a comment that I deleted because under the advice of SkyDiveRick, Tom's comments are no longer welcome here - but I have to say something about the last comment he left on this post ; ; ; he said that this is a classic "Get off muh lawn" post. So you are condoning such behavior? You think that it is fine for someone to damage the property of another? No need to answer the questions. I have a feeling your answers are a twisted 1000 word essay that will make assumptions and accusations that even the most rotten politician would never make (unless they were Reid, Pelosi, or Dodd, anyway)

In Doug's addled brain, it's quite proper and noble to take a a persons words, paraphrase them, and argue against an interpretation of what they've said. Even better, do it whilst simultaenously removing any ability to respond in defense.

The vast majority of comments I left at his blog he simply deleted off. I went to great pains to stay on topic, do nothing but present the facts, and if Doug happened to approve one, he'd always get the last word, deleting anything I'd have to say after that.

I've often said that there is no better example of Conservative ideology, and it's true. I cannot find anyone as uniquely derranged as Doug.

There's "no need" for me to respond because I'll just write a bunch of words.. you know.. I'll look things up, do some research, verify my facts, and flesh out an argument. That sometimes takes a lot of words, and we all know that words have a well known Liberal bias.. so my response would be "twisted" because it would be long.

Ya Doug.. it'll be long.. and I'm going to post it here. This will likly be the last one for a while since Doug isn't going to directly engage me (again, he's a coward). He's not going to be specific about any of his arguments. He's not going to say what he means.. and his blog is going to get really fucking boring.

After this one, if I write about Doug again, I'll make a short entry on this blog, redirecting to Douggie Watch, where I'll have a more substantive post... but last night.. my mind was in overdrive as I wrote this and boy.. did I get nasty.. mmm uh huh..

So now this new game you're playing is that you'll delete my comment.. then post your own comment about what I've said.. and then delete any response I might have.

Look, you want to delete my comments.. fine.. but it's just the most bizarre thing I've ever seen that you'd ask me a question about it, and then delete anything I might say. Right? That's the new Gibb's modis operandi?

You ask me if I'm condoning such behavior, and if I answer it, like I am now, you'll delete it. In your world, that makes perfect sense. That's completely fair. That's how proper "values oriented" people behave.

Delete all my comments Doug.. but that removes your right to say anything about me.. especially when all you're going to do is paraphrase what I've said anyway, and refuse me the right to respond. Conversely, I always link, I always quote (accurately, unlike you), and I always solicit rebuttal. You seem to have a different ethical standard than I.

That tactic make you the biggest coward I've ever seen.. and that's saying a lot.

And for the record.. no.. I do NOT excuse vandalism, but what you've posted is just typical Doug Gibbs style. It's classic..

You insist that Liberals engage in more poor behavior than conservatives, without providing any evidence at all.. none.. zero.. nada.. zip. That's all you ever do. As I've said, you post the same 5 themes over and over and over.. for years at a time.. and never, ever, substantiate any of it.

I do realize what your game is Doug. It's not about about policy debate. It's not about making a point, or challenge.. it's all about the rhetoric and propaganda. That's why you'll never say what you mean, and that's why you'll never back up your points... ever.

And for the record.. no.. I do NOT approve of such behavior. I also don't cherry pick bad behavior from a sliver of people and try to make it out to be the standard operating principles of a movement like you always do.

Do some Liberals act like jackasses? You bet. Do some Conservatives? Oh ya.. and I've said this over and over.

The thing is, that doesn't fit your propaganda. That doesn't fit your agenda. And that doesn't fit the facts.. and so you just say what you want.. delete everything else.. and apparently now you're saying my "comments are no longer welcome".

We both know they were never welcome, because I'm not a timid Liberal that doesn't respond in kind to your bile. You want nice and friendly, while you refer to people with the most outrageous insults? Not.. gonna.. happen. I'm not a nice guy when it comes to people like you.

.. and the only time you ever approved comments (instead of deleting) was when you saw an opening.. where you thought I'd made a mistake.. You want only platitudes in your comments section. That's all we'll ever see. Good for you Doug, you "won" the debate.

Oh.. you'll approve a comment, when a poor uniformed Liberal stumbles in and says something dumb. You'll approve that right away, insult them as a "Libtard", and then demonstrate to everyone how stupid they are.

Here's a little newsflash for you Doug. That's what I do with you on my blog. You don't even realize that you're the dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks Conservative that I'm blessed to have found. Just like you salivate at the dumb comment from a Liberal, I salivate at every single thing you write on your blog. And, the great thing is that you can't stop me ripping entire swaths of your posts (fair use length of course), and posting them on mine. The first amendment is so awesome. Oh heck, fair use has nothing to do with blogs. I can rip the entire thing.

And Rick was right. I was "drawing you in". I was trying to get you to address the actual points.. because I knew I could shred your arguments easily, like I've been doing for some 2 years now. That's why I want you to get specific about taxes, and that's why I want you to get specific about the New Deal, and so-called "entitlements". That's why I want you to say what you actually mean.

I want that desperately, because I know you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You and I both know that. I'll rip your argument apart like tissue paper.

Hell, I had Jennifer damn near despising you.. and that wasn't any "trickery" on my part. That was simply using what you've written.

My whole goal is to get you to talk. Haven't you figured that out yet? If I can get you to engage me directly, that's even better. But you won't now.. Rick has "advised" you to be a coward. Nice to see where your direction comes from.

Oh.. look.. Rick was gonna kick my ass. Still nothing on his blog. Not a single thing.. which is disappointing because Rick is even more clueless than you are.

Is this a "twisted 1000 word essay"? What's wrong with 1000 words Doug? Is actually fleshing out an argument a bad thing? I suppose it is to you. OMG it's so many words.. it's twisted.. it's making assumptions, and accusations.

Where I grew up, we called that whining.

Come on.. admit it.. you know you don't want to take the time to do any research. You don't want to write anything that's actually meaningful. You don't want to actually say anything beyond the same tired 5 topic posts that you write over and over? And you sure as hell don't want to rip off AP writers anymore, because you know I can tell when your post doesn't sound dumb enough that I'll just stick it in google to find out who really wrote it.

I'm sorry if I'm overly wordy, but in my world.. words have meaning.. and there should be substance behind it.. an explanation of the how's and why's. And to be honest Doug.. it's getting harder and harder for me to do anything with you because I'm boring the hell out of my readers with you. I'm becoming repetitive because you've got nothing new to say.

Should I move on to somebody a little more interesting? I know I should, but it's just really hard when my core argument is the insanity of the extreme right wing, and it would be incredibly difficult to find a replacement for you. I was hoping to get something out of Rick, but he has no real interest... and every other whack-a-loon has quit blogging.

Remember RightWingGuyMN? Remember how he suddenly disappeared and you insisted he'd just the joined military like he said he was going to, once he got his "little problem" sorted out? Still nothing.. he's gone.. and not in the military..

I'll tell you what.. I'll make a good faith effort to find somebody else. I just don't know where to look. Like I said.. the Conservative movement is completely jumbled right now, and the only one that I've seen that is completely consistent is you.
